CASTILLEJOS, Zambales — A 35-year–old female nurse is the 6th confirmed case of Covid-19 in the province as reported by Zambales provincial health officer Noel Bueno.
The patient is the second from Castillejos town, according to Mayor Eleanor Dominguez. She worked in one of the hospitals inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone and had stayed there since March 27. Last April 1, she was admitted in the same hospital and swab testswere done on her the next morning.
On April 5, Dr. Bueno confirmed that the patient was positive of Covid–19 after the result of the swab test was released.
Dominguez said that the patient is in good condition inside an isolation room of the hospital “despite occurrence of fever and cough and cold on several occasions.”
The local government unit ordered a total lockdown within the area where she resides and conducted disinfection.
Based on the provincial health records so far, out of six Covid–19 patients, one recovered, one died, three remain in hospital, and one in home quarantine.
In Olongapo City, a two-year–old boy was listed as their 3rd case of positive Covid–19 and is confined in a hospital in the province of Bataan. The patient has a congenital heart disease and a regular patient of the hospital he was confined in.
The 2nd patient is a 45–year–old Filipino male person listed as person under investigation and has no travel history. He is reported to be in stable condition and isolated in a hospital in the city. City health officials are now conducting contract tracing of the persons in close contact with the patient.
Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. urged the public to maintain proper hygiene and served notice that no other office or person is authorized to issue any information regarding Covid-19 in the city besides the local city task force to avoid the spread of fake news.
The Olongapo Covid–19 Task Force will be vigilant and continue to implement all precautionary measure to fight the disease, Paulino said.
