OLONGAPO CITY – This city has ceased to be free of the coronavirus disease.
In a statement today, March 28, the Olongapo Covid-19 Task Force headed by Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. confirmed the city’s first case.
The patient is a 75-year-old male who was in the city’s list of PUIs and recorded as having a history of travel in Manila, arriving here last March 16. He wasreported to have been diagnosed as having sore throat and pneumonia.
The patient is “currently in good condition” at the Allied Care Experts Medical Center (Baypointe Hospital) inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, the statement said.
Dr. Doods Bustamante, city health officer, said contact tracing has being conducted by the City Health Office.
Even as prayers were requested for the patient’s recovery, the task force assured the public that it will “remain vigilant and continue to implement all precautionary measures to fight Covid-19.”
