The Social Security System (SSS) on Thursday announced that it will implement precautionary measures in its offices to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic to its transacting members and employees.
The  SSS Main Office, SSS Makati Building and SSS Gil-Puyat Branch will be closed on Friday, 13 March 2020, for disinfection which will start tonight and will continue until the weekend, if necessary.
“We will maintain a skeletal workforce in our office tomorrow to support our branches that will remain open while the disinfection procedures are being carried out,” SSS President and CEO Aurora C. Ignacio said.
The regular disinfection of SSS offices will also be increased, prioritizing areas with a large volume of member’s transactions.
Aside from the regular temperature check at all entry points, members will now be requested to answer a questionnaire to determine possible exposure to the virus.
COVID-19 prevention guidelines based on the latest advisories from the Department of Health (DOH) will also be posted in SSS offices nationwide.
“Given that our country is declared under the state of a public health emergency, we advise our members to follow all precautionary measures identified by the DOH,” Ignacio said.

The SSS will issue a separate advisory for other branches that will require a temporary closure.
