The Department of Health has confirmed the first death and second case of Wuhan coronavirus case in the Philippines at a press conference on Sunday.
The 44-year-old male is the second person with the 2019 novel coronavirus acute respiratory disease (2019-nCoV ARD) in the Philippines. He died on February 1.
“This is the first reported case outside of China. However, we need to keep in mind that he came from Wuhan, China,” according to World Health Organization (WHO) representative in the Philippines Dr. Rabi Abeyasinghe.
