ANGELES CITY – Pampanga 1st District Board Member Tarcicio “Tars” Halili suffered a cardiac arrest Monday night and is in critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Angeles University Foundation Medical Center.

This was learned from his fellow first district board member, Cris Garbo who accompanied Gov. Lilia Pineda when she visited Halili on Tuesday and spoke with the patient’s cardiologist Dr. Norberto Yumul.

Yumul told Pineda “it’s about 30 percent that Halili could make it.” He added that the 62-year-old board member was suffering as of Tuesday morning “multiple organ failure.”

Yumul said Halili remained unconscious since suffering a cardiac arrest after speaking in a caucus at about 7:00 p.m Monday in Barangay Sta. Maria, Mabalacat City.

The governor asked Kapampangans for more prayers for Halili’s quick recovery.

“With God and prayers, nothing is impossible,” said Pineda.

Garbo said Halili attended a committee hearing and then a provincial board session on Monday afternoon before attending a caucus with his party mates later in the same day in Sta. Maria, Mabalacat.

“Up to the last minute, Board Member Halili was caring to the governor bringing her lanzones before leaving the Capitol late Monday afternoon,” said BM Fritzie David-Dizon, who joined Pineda in partaking of the governor’s favourite fruit.
