Police Lieutenant Colonel Paul Ynigo Gamido, San Fernando Chief of Police; Fire Chief Inspector Roderick Marquez, City Fire Marshal; Raymond Del Rosario, CDRRM Officer; Joseph Garcia, Business Permit and License Permit Officer, give the rules and regulations in the use of firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices among 35 legal firecracker vendors on December 27, 2019.
City of San Fernando vowed to strictly implement regulation and control of the use of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices in support of Executive No. 28.
Hence, the local government thru its implementing bodies, conducted a symposium among 35 legitimate firecracker vendors on Thursday.
The discussion aimed to encourage the vendors to adhere to rules, requirements and Do’s and Don’ts set by the local government in line with its Anti-Paputok Campaign.
The City of San Fernando Police, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) will work hand in hand to ensure public safety, order, and security.
According to Lieutenant Col. Paul Ynigo Gamido, San Fernando Chief of Police, firecrackers with containing more than two grams or 1.3 teaspoons of gunpowder are strictly prohibited.
The prohibited firecrackers include Whistlebomb, Piccolo, Goodbye Earth, Atomic Big Triangulo, Super Lolo, Judas’ belt and other powerful imported fireworks.
Firecrackers with hazardous chemicals, like watusi, are also not allowed.
Raymond Del Rosario, CDRRM Officer, also reminded the vendors of the “No Smoking” and “No Testing” policy to avoid minor and major disasters in the areas.
The BFP, headed by Fire Chief Inspector Roderick Marquez, City Fire Marshal, also vowed to deploy water tanks to fill drums in every firecracker store to be used in case of fire.
Meanwhile, Joseph Garcia, Business Permit and License Permit Officer, warned the vendors not to take risk in selling prohibited firecrackers. He warned them that the city government will shutdown the stores of violators.
Consumers can start buying firecrackers today, December 27, until December 31 in designated selling areas for the legal firecracker vendors—in Barangay Baliti and Salilungan in Barangay San Juan.
