LUBAO, Pampanga – Home to the biggest hot air balloon festival in Southeast Asia. Championship golf course that ranks among the best in the country. Wakeboarding facility that is the rave of pros and enthusiasts alike. Off-road course. Luxurious villas.
As though these were not enough attractions, Pradera Verde on Monday (Nov. 25) broke ground for an amusement park, a speed track, and a flying club – effectively taking leisure in all elemental spheres of water, land, and air. The sky’s the limit, aye, aye, aye.
The breadth and scale of the new ventures: 23 hectares for the amusement park, 13 for the speed track, a 1.2-km runway – already in the process of construction – for the flying club independent of hangars, and other aero facilities – bespeak of the enormity of the investments infused in area.
“These world-class facilities shall place Lubao in the tourism map,” enthused Pampanga board member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, beaming with pride of place, during the simple ceremonial rites that comprised the blessing presided by Rev. Fr. Mar Miranda, and in the laying of a time capsule with Pampanga Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda and family patriarch businessman-philanthropist Rodolfo “Bong” Pineda doing the honors.
