ANGELES CITY – A slapping incident involving an American national marred the open forum at a subdivision here on Sunday, increasing the tension between two homeowners’ groups.
Michael Shane, former board director of the Timor Park Homes (TPH) in Barangay Pampang, was slapped by an unidentified person during the open forum at the social hall of the subdivision at about 5:00 p.m., according to residents.
Shane was board director of the former TPH homeowners group led by another American, Robert Lewallen.
They were removed as leaders of TPH after the election last month.
Tensions gripped the TPH since December when Lewallen’s group held an election questioned by another group headed by Alfredo “Don” Bunye and Pancho Coronel.
Bunye, newly elected TPH president, said Shane “was taunting someone and calling him lesbian when he (Shane) was slapped.”
“I didn’t see the person who hit Shane because I was busy at the forum. I heard he was not from Timog,” added Bunya.
Punto tried to speak with Shane but residents said he rushed to the nearby hospital after being slapped.
“He could have asked for a medical report in preparation for something in court,” said TPH residents.
“We hope the concerned agencies come in and stop the tension which can lead to a more serious incident,” they added.
Bunye said he and the new set of officers had organized the open forum to report “on the financial status and other important matters.”
He assailed Lewallen’s group for spreading notices at the TPH asking residents “not to pay monthly dues and do not buy car stickers.”
On January 25, Lewallen’s group filed a complaint before the Housing and Land Regulatory Board (HLURB) against Bunye’s group.
Lewallen’s group asked the HLURB to compel Bunye and his fellow officers to deliver the petitioners the following: Corporate records, books of accounts, personal properties and keys.”
In the complaint, Lewallen’s group said “that despite the efforts of the petitioners to effect a smooth turn-over and transition from the respondents, the latter stubbornly and arrogantly failed and refused.”
“Ridiculous,” said Bunye when asked about the compliant filed Lewallen against them.
“Lewallen, Shane and other parties involved are the ones responsible for the disappearance of many important records and receipts,” said Bunye. He disclosed that they had filed their counter-affidavit before the HLURB.
“We hope the HLURB resolve the problem immediately to give peace a chance in Timog,” said Bunye.
“The open forum was to report on the disaster left by Lewallen, Shane and their companions before we start all over again,” he added.
