1st CL Expo showcases trade, tourism, investment

CLARK FREEPORT— The Central Luzon Growth Corridor Foundation, Inc (CLGCFI) in partnership with Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) held the first Central Luzon Expo (CLExpo) at the ASEAN Convention Center here on Thursday.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by CLGCFI president and Tarlac Gov. Susan Yap together with guest of honor, House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano.

They were joined by DTI provincial directors Nelin Cabahug and Leonila Baluyut, regional director Judith Angeles, former DTI secretary Adrian Cristobal, and assistant regional director Zorina Aldana.

Yap expressed her appreciation as she encouraged everyone to visit the first CLExpo event. “We have seven pavilions from the different provinces, 16 corporate booths, 63 SMEs, 50 participating companies for the job fair, and 12 travel agencies,” she said.

“Central Luzon is such a vibrant economy. The skilled workers in Central Luzon are at par with Manila’s human resources,” Yap stressed.

For his part, Cayetano emphasized the importance of marketing and promotion in any business.

“But more than that (marketing and promotion) ay ‘yung magkaisa ung buong region at pitong provinces,” he said.

Central Luzon being one of the key growth regions in the country will showcase trade, tourism and investment opportunities from each of the seven provinces – Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Zambales and Tarlac.

The showcase will feature culinary products and widely known commodities, as well as job fair opportunities from Central Luzon companies and even an industry forum.

Procurement matching and meetings which are already preset for investors, and s business-to-business meetings will also be held.

CLGCFI is composed of the seven governors of Central Luzon in cooperation with DTI – Region III.
