ANGELES CITY – A 17-year- old Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) councilor in Barangay Cuayan here was stabbed four times while attending a fiesta in nearby Porac town last May 2 but survived the attack from at least three suspects, all of whom were minors.  Gloria Pedraza yesterday said her son, Jonel, survived three stab wounds at his back and one on his hips from the suspect identified as a certain Alvin, 16, of Barangay Cutcut, here.

The suspect was accompanied by his friends from Barangay Sta. Cruz, Porac when they attacked the Cuayan SK councilor.

“My son was very young but surprisingly, his attackers were younger ranging from 15 to 16 years old,” said Gloria in the dialect.

Gloria said Jodel attended the eve of the fiesta celebration at Sta. Cruz when he was attacked in a carnival. The incident happened at about 11:00 p.m.

“The companions of my son ran after sensing trouble. But Jodel could not run faster and he was the one they caught and stabbed,” Gloria said.

She said the police had helped her file the appropriate charges against the suspects before the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) office in the region.

Gloria also said her son was declared out of danger after being treated at the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Hospital in the City of San Fernando.

She added that her son underwent a surgery since his liver was hit by the knife used by Alvin.
