CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will launch within the year the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (NSB) in Pampanga.

DTI Provincial Director Elenita Ordonio said the program will be initially implemented in the province’s fourth class municipalities namely Sasmuan, Sta. Rita, Minalin and Sto. Tomas.

“We want the various programs and services of our agency to really reach and penetrate the grassroots in order to promote inclusive growth,” Ordonio said.

Similar to Negosyo Centers, DTI will coordinate with the local chief executives and punong barangays to introduce the program and solicit their support for its implementation.

“We will also conduct needs assessment within the barangay. If we see that the people need skills development, we will provide them trainings. We also target micro enterprises in the barangay and help them market their products,” she added.

Aside from NSB, DTI will also implement the One Town, One Product Next Generation to help the entrepreneurs in the barangay improve their products.

“Through this, we provide technical assistance to them in terms of product development, packaging and labeling,” she said.

To date, DTI Pampanga has provided aid to around 80 micro, small and medium enterprises in the province.
