CLARK FREEPORT — Farmers in Pampanga and other provinces in Central Luzon are expected to benefit from the Cosmo City Information Technology (IT) and food bazaar here slated to begin operation next year.

This, according to Candaba Mayor Jerry Pelayo and officials of the Hyundai IT Corp. and the Candaba-based Farm Fresh 25 who led the groundbreaking of the Cosmo City facility on Tuesday.

Farm Fresh 25 president Patrick Pelayo, son of the mayor, disclosed that he and their group had vowed to make food security as their “mission in life.” He added that farmers will greatly benefit from the Cosmo City which will have 1,000 stalls.

“It’s sad to note that the government had failed to help our farmers. That is why we are doing our part,” said the younger Pelayo.

He disclosed that Hyundai will also sell their IT products at the Cosmo City.

Pelayo noted that the facility will ensure that the farmers’ produce will be sold at a price “beneficial to both the producers and consumers.”

Mayor Pelayo was the brains behind the Candaba market fair here held every Friday for the past three years. It showcases the products of farmers in Candaba.

“With the help Hyundai, we will be bigger,” added Pelayo.

Hyundai Philippines IT President Jin Lee and officials of Cosmo City attended the ceremony graced by Mayors Omeng Concepcion of Sta. Ana and Ric Rivera of Guagua.
