ANGELES CITY – City Mayor-elect Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on May 20, 2019 joined the Department of Education (DepEd) Angeles City Division at the Brigada Eskwela kick-off program at Francis G. Nepomuceno Memorial High School.

With the theme “Matatag na Bayan para sa Maunlad na Paaralan,” Lazatin talked about the correlation between the state of the nation and the quality of schools and education in the country.

According to Lazatin, a strong nation with a government that prioritizes education will lead to quality schools with competitive graduates, and these well-educated graduates will then go on to contribute to further strengthening and developing the nation.

It can be recalled that education is one of Lazatin’s Six-Point Agenda, which he talked about on the campaign trail leading to the May 13 Elections.

Lazatin said that the “incoming administration will work hand in hand with all stakeholders to provide quality education to all Angeleños.”

Prior to being elected as Mayor, Lazatin served two terms as City Councilor and donated some 500 trashcans and 33 television sets to various public schools and day care centers in the city.
