BACOLOR, Pampanga – The president of the Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) here vowed to provide basic social services once elected mayor.

ABC President and Cabalantian Village Chief Jomar Hizon said that providing basic services to the people would be the priority of his government.

“Giving basic social services will be primarily beneficial to poor folk,” said Hizon.

The ABC chief refused to disclose his line-up for the 2010 elections.

“We are still finalizing our line-up. In due time we will reveal them,” said Hizon.

Hizon is the second of the 12 sons of Lolita Hizon, proprietor of the giant Pampanga’s Best food products.

Lolita appealed to their constituents to “vote for Jomar as it will be very advantageous to the people.”

“Jomar will not just use the resources of the government but the family’s resources as well in serving the people,” said the Hizon matriarch.

Lolita, through the IBACA Foundation, and Jomar have been leading a series of medical and dental missions here since last year.

“I just want to point that IBACA and the Hizon family have been helping people with or without politics,” Lolita. She added they had sponsored medical and dental missions all over the province for the past 10 years.

Jomar will most likely face three other aspirants for the top executive post in the historic town. They are former Board Member Ferdinand “Dinan” Labung, Vice Mayor Diman Datu and Ron Earvin Dungca, son of Mayor Romeo “Buddy” Dungca.
