ANGELES CITY – “We want to show that Fields is not just for girlie bars but wholesome entertainment as well.”

Thus said a veteran international chef as he is set to open today (Sept. 15) H-Rock, a three-in-one restaurant and bar at Fields Avenue in Barangay Balibago here.

German national Franz Weber Jr. and his wife Jacquiline said that H-Rock will provide “music and entertainment of your choice.”

It will have three bars in a two-storey building: live bands at the main bar; piano at the Red bar; and reggae-inspired beats at the Caribbean Lounge.

A former food and beverage director of the Holiday Inn hotels, Franz said H-Rock will provide “both quality entertainment and food.”

“The food and drinks will have very competitive prices,” said Franz, who has operated for five years the Azzuro Italian restaurant which is a stone’s throw away from H-Rock.

Journalists were toured at the new resto-bar where a huge indoor guitar is displayed at the rooftop of the first floor.

“We want to have some trademark and asked our carpenters to create a 10.8 meter- long guitar,” said Franz Helmut, son of the owner.

He added that the creation of the guitar and the new bar itself had been inspired by their family’s frequent visits to Hardrock cafes world-wide.

The Webers tapped the services of their fellow German, Gerhard Lohmann, as manager of H-Rock.

They said the bar’s opening today is for “VIPs” and other invited guests. It will be open to the public on September 16.
