CAPAS, Tarlac, March 9 (PIA) — About 377 senior citizens in the municipality of Capas recently received their Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) grant from Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Each beneficiary got PhP 2,400 for the year or equivalent to PhP 200 per month.

“The UCT is the subsidy under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion or TRAIN Law provided to give assistance to the indigent senior citizens who are sick and disabled,” Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan said.

“The beneficiaries were from 11 barangays namely Cut-cut 1, Sta. Lucia, Estrada, Cub-cub, O Donell, Sta. Rita, Sto. Domingo 1, Sta. Juliana, Sto. Rosario, Maruglo, and Talaga. Aside from these, other barangays from the municipality received their payout or grants last 2018,” he added.

Qualified beneficiaries of UCT are those who are frail, sick, with disability, without pension and no permanent source of income, compensation or financial support from relatives. (CLJD/CJVF-PIA 3)
