MAGALANG, Pampanga – First District Rep. Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin and three other government officials will lead guests in the inauguration and blessing of a P10-million building at the municipal hall here on May 18.

Disclosing this on Monday, Mayor Lyndon Cunanan said the new two-storey building will “boost the confidence and spirit of municipal workers.” He added it will be called the Legislative and Conference Building.

The other guests are Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Director Renato Brion, Technical and Educational Skills Development Authority official and former Mayor Pastor Guiao and Technology and Livelihood Resource Center Deputy Executive Director Dennis Cunanan, cousin of the first-term mayor.

“Some of the workers said they felt relieved with  having a new building after many years,” said Cunanan. He added that the old building standing on the same area was in a “terrible state.”

Cunanan expressed gratitude to Lazatin for giving P1 million which will be used for the furniture of the building.

“Endless support has been bestowed by Congressman Lazatin on our town. No wonder he is well-loved here,” said Cunanan.

He disclosed that the funds for the building had been taken from “savings and surplus of the Internal Revenue Allotment.”

The new building at the back of the municipal hall will house the offices of the Department of Agriculture, municipal assessors, Urban Poor Affairs and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO).
