Garbo, in a phone interview on Friday, said he and Third District Board Member JQ Quiambao “had only exchanged heated words but there was no physical contact between them.”
“It was just a matter of fighting for each other’s belief during the session. Our principle simply crossed path resulting to an argument,” said Garbo.
The first district board member said “cooler heads pacified them before it could lead to anything violent.”
But sources said Art Punzalan, chief of staff of Vice Gov. Joseller “Yeng” Guaio, tried to stop Garbo and Quiambao from fighting. They said his arm was hurt while trying to stop them. Punzalan and Quiambao did not return text messages for their comments.
