VG Delta distributes P3.2-M educational aid to 1,265 SHS students

LUBAO – Vice Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda led the distribution of P3.2 million (P3,162,500) or 2,500 each to some 1,265 Senior High School students under the Educational Financial Assistance Program (EFAP).

As an advanced graduation gift, the Vice- Governor Delta” personally handed out the checks to each deserving students during the distribution held at Lubao Gymnasium, here.

The EFAP was extended to students from San Roque Dau High School (127), San Pablo 2nd National High School (248), Del Carmen National High School (94), Sta. Cruz High Integrated School (164), San Vicente National High School (234), Lubao National High School (293) and Remedios High School (105).

Facing the crowd, the vice-governor encouraged the youth to dream bigger and to insist in finishing their studies to become professionals in the future.

“Seryoso muna tayo, mga anak. Nasa punto na kayo ng buhay na dapat focus na kayo. Later on (in life) mare-realize ninyo na kailangan niyo magfocus sa pag aaral para rin sa kinabukasan niyo,” Pineda said.

Meanwhile, he also cautioned the students to avert from illegal drugs and habits as to promote a healthy lifestyle.

“This is a critical stage for you. You have to choose to be better for yourself and for your future family,” Pineda added.

As a role model to the youth, Pineda vowed to continue his advocacies adding that prioritizing education is a key to economic growth and stability in the province.

“Wag niyo sayangin ang opportunity na kagaya ngayon nakakapagbigay na ang pamahalaan ng free education (sa college). Grab the opportunity and study,” Pineda ended.

The awarding of educational aid was facilitated by the Provincial Library headed by Bessie Macabali with the assistance of Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) Chief Angie Blanco and staff from the Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO).
