CITY OF SAN FERNANDO’S Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago believes that senior citizens have gone through enough in their lives and have contributed a lot in the society.

“Yung mga panahon na kayo ay malalakas, ay hindi niyo kami pinabayaan at higit sa lahat hanggang sa aming paglaki, kayo ang umantabay sa amin at nagturo sa tamang landas sa buhay. Kayo po ang tunay na lider sa buhay ng bawat Fernandino.”

This was Santiago’s message to the senior citizens of the City of San Fernando during the kick-off celebration of Seniors’ Day Out on February 18, 2019.

The activity was part of the celebration of 18th Cityhood anniversary or Kaganapan 2019 in an aim to “show love and respect to the elders as they are equally valuable in the society.”

Senior citizens enjoyed the fun activities including the “Bingo Social” and “Libreng Sine Plus,” which was made possible through the initiatives of the Office of the Senior Citizens, City Social Welfare and Development Office, and Community Affairs Division.

Santiago, together with Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, City Councilors Angie Hizon, Harvey Quiwa, Reden Halili, Nelson Lingat, Ruping Dumlao, and BJ Lagman, Barangay Captain Tina Lagman (Saguin), Captain Ariel Carreon (San Felipe), Kaganapan 2019 Chairperson Engr. Ferdinand Caylao, and former Third District board member Raul Macalino graced the fun celebration.

Seniors’ Day Out celebration will run until February 22, 2019.
