TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija – Sen. JV Ejercito urged the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) to help in clearing the air in favor of immunization program amid the public fear that resulted to measles outbreak.

Talking to media here Thursday Ejercito said he had raised the possibility of panic at the height of Senate investigation on Dengvaxia.

“Yun nga ang nangyari, nawalan na ng kumpiyansa sa immunization program,” Ejercito said.

“Kinakailangan concerted effort. Itong DOH (Department of Health) of course, ang LGU, pero dapat sinabi ko sa kanya mismong si PAO chief tumulong din sabihin niya ibahin po yung issue ng Dengvaxia sa mga proven vaccines,” he said, noting the need to regain public trust in vaccination programs.

Meanwhile, Mayor Nerivi Santos-Martinez of Talavera and Nueva Ecija First Dist. Rep. Estrellita Suansing expressed gratitude for Ejercito’s support in upgrading the status of Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center Extension in the town to an independent staterun hospital.

Suansing said Ejercito authored a counterpart measure in the Senate to support hers in the House of Representatives.

This paved the way for the increase of bed capacity and provision of improvements in all other facilities the hospital, including land area, Suansing said.
