ANGELES CITY – First District Rep. Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin has urged residents to avail themselves of his training-for-work program pushed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Lazatin said 961 people had benefited from his training programs offered in reliable schools here, Mabalacat, Magalang and nearby City of San Fernando.
“Ask your family members and friends to join our free trainings which can generate good employment in these challenging times,” said Lazatin, who set aside a yearly budget of P1.5 million for three years to fund the project.
The first-term solon disclosed that Arroyo through the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) gave a yearly counterpart of P3.5 million. He added that some P5 million funds are available for the project available until next year.
“We express delight over the invaluable help rendered by the President for my constituents, especially the poor ones,” said Lazatiin.
IC Calaguas, chief of staff of Lazatin, said 480 people initially availed themselves of the training program. She added that 481more have enrolled in the second batch.
The courses offered are in housekeeping, food and beverage, butchering, horticulture, animal production, commercial cooking, welding and bar tending as well as for call center agents.
Lazatin’s training project are offered at the New Era University in San Fernando, Mother Earth meat plant in Mabalacat, Call Center Academy here, Saint Mary’s College here and Pampanga Agricultural College (PAC) in Magalang.
Calaguas said interested applicants may visit their congressional office or call (045) 636-6312 to inquire and avail of the training program.
