CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – “You are the unsung heroes of the province.”
This what Vice Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda said in the recent assembly of Barangay Bantay Bayan and Nanay Community Workers (NCWs) held at Lubao town and Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center (BZGCC).
The Provincial Government of Pampanga, through Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), headed by Gov. Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda, recognized the intensive efforts of the Barangay Bantay Bayan and NCWs in maintaining the peace and order situation and disaster preparedness in their respective areas.
In achieving a “resilient” Pampanga, these heroes consistently extended a helping hand to the Capitol in reaching the grassroots level, according to the Governor.
Moreover, the younger Pineda thanked them for dedicating their time, attention and support to the constituency even if they are not receiving regular salaries and allowances. “You are volunteers, but heroes,” he added.
Meanwhile, Gov. Pineda also mentioned the need for more health and educational infrastructures for the province.
The more than 11,000 Barangay Bantay Bayan members and 9,000 NCWs received food and cash assistance.
For her part, PDRRMO Chief Angie Blanco stressed the importance of disaster preparedness at the barangay level, as well as the work of NCWs in helping the sick in receiving medical assistance.
“Kayo, at ang pamilya niyo, ay mananatiling mga prayoridad ng Kapitolyo,” the Vice Governor said.
