CSF obtains Level II Blue Certification from Ombudsman

THE CITY of San Fernando’s Business License and Permit Division (BLPD) officially received its Level II Blue Certification from the Office of the Ombudsman in Quezon City on December 6, 2018, making it the first city in Luzon to have received the said compliance.

According to the office, the Blue Certification Program is created to thoroughly assess Local Government Units’ (LGUs) efficiency in performing business licensing processes and procedures, with an aim to reduce “burden of red tape” in doing business.

It can be recalled that August of this year, CSF undergone a validation, where it passed the required compliance rating, a prerequisite to acquire a Level II compliance, the highest level of certification ever reached by an LGU in the history of the Blue Certification Program.

BLPD has acquired a total of 69 complied standards (79.31%), divided into 9 categories namely Application Form, Requirements, Procedure, IT-Enabled System, Citizen’s Charter, Customer Convenience, Anti-Fixing Mechanism, Business Permit, and Continuous Improvement.

During the validation, Joseph Marion Navarrete of the Office of the Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon stated that business transactions in the city are well-managed and corrupt-free, citing “Mula application up to processing and operations ng mga opisina ay maganda, maayos, at masasabing less prone to corruption.”

Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago has expressed his gratitude to the Office of the Ombudsman for recognizing the city’s efforts and vowed for a continuous “competent and hassle-free” transactions.

Now that the Blue Certification has officially bestowed to San Fernando, Santiago remarked that the city can now share its success to the whole Fernandino community and to its partners.

“We have once more proven the ease of doing business in San Fernando. This is a shared success with the whole Fernandino people and with all the business enthusiasts who have been considering the city as a fine business destination,” said Santiago.
