CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Plans of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to fully mobilize para-military anti-communist groups would be a revival of the infamous Alsa Masa whose members are known, in 1985, to have killed Fr. Tulio Favali and even ate parts of his brain.

Anakpawis Partylist Rep. Ariel Casilao said in a statement that “if the PNP had any sanity left, it should dismantle its existing Community Mobilization Project and abandon the idea altogether.”

“How could the PNP hatch such an idea? This CMP is resurrecting the monster Alsa Masa, an organization which bred modern day psychopathic butchers like the Manero Brothers who were Alsa Masa ring leaders. In 1985, they killed Fr. Tulio Favali, splattered open his head and ate some of its contents,” Casilao said.

He said that “the hit TV program Ang Probinsiyano is right after all, PNP is digging its own grave for its image credibility if they further push for creation of Alsa Masa-like vigilante group.”

‘This measure should be opposed and rejected. Organizations like Alsa Masa, now renamed CMP by the PNP, are effective mainly because they feed on the paranoia and hysteria that everyone is a communist. Because of this, they always end up blurring human rights that cause them to violate them wholesale, even killing the innocents. The gorier, the better!”, Casilao also said.
