BALANGA CITY – Candidates for Miss Earth 2018 on Friday visited Bataan and planted tree seedlings in an upland village here.
Some of the beauties coming from various parts of the world rode a carabao-driven cart to the planting site in the village of Dangcol.
They were in playful mood, dancing to the music of Filipino folk dance and braving the heat of the morning sun.
They refreshed on buko juice straight from the young coconut shell. Organizers said there are 88 Ms. Earth candidates but only 30 arrived in Balanga City for the tree planting.
In the evening, all the 88 candidates participated in the swimsuit competition at the Brisa Marina Resort in Morong, Bataan which is more than 50 kilometers of zigzag road from Balanga City.
Ms. Venezuela emerged as the gold medalist, getting the title “Best in Swimsuit” for the Fire Group.
Ms. Dominican Republic was second, getting the bronze medal. She was earlier named as “Ms. Brisa Marina.” Resort owners Dexter Co and wife Joyce were among the judges.
