SM Foundation recently concluded its largest medical, dental mission to Bulacan, which brought together a total of 50 doctors and 100 volunteers to provide 4,808 health services to indigent Bulakeño patients.
The free medical and dental consultation were conducted at SM Malls in Marilao, San Jose Del Monte, Baliwag and Pulilan to make it more accessible to public.
Beneficiaries were able to avail of the various services, such as medical and dental checkup as well as treatment, blood pressure checkup, and basic laboratory examinations that include uric acid, cholesterol and blood sugar testing and monitoring.
Free diagnostic and other laboratory services such as electro cardiograph (ECG), x-ray tests and urinalysis were likewise availed by the patients through the SM Foundation Mobile Clinic.
Thousands of free medicines and other health supplements were also given during the Medical and Dental Mission.
This year, SM Foundation’s project and volunteer partners include Watsons, Department of Social Welfare and Development Office, Philippine National Red Cross-Bulacan Chapter, the Municipal Government and Municipal Health Offices of Marilao, San Jose Del Monte, Baliwag and Pulilan. Private medical companies like The Primewell City Multi-Specialty Clinic and MyDentist also stepped forward to help rural folks in the provision of basic dental care services and treatment.
SM Foundation’s Gamot Para Sa Kapwa Medical and Dental Mission is the socio civic arm of the SM Group of Companies that aims to provide ancillary services to communities that have limited access to medical services. It also aims to provide immediate dental benefits to economically disadvantaged patients within the malls’ vicinities.
