Fiona Nicolas, government communications manager of Grab Philippines, said 311 tricycles are available for Grab users in Angeles City.
“We decided to put up Grab in Pampanga to level up the service and give assurance of safety for commuters,” she said.
A P25 booking fee is charged for every passenger and P10 for every kilometer, Nicolas said. The average fare is about P75-P100.
Residents of subdivisions can easily book a tricycle using the Grab app which can fetch them right from their doorsteps, she added.
Grab is smart phone application which can be downloaded for free either for IOS or Android platforms in smart phones.
With the Grab app, commuters can safely book a ride and know the exact fare upon booking. This means that no more hassles in negotiating for a taxi fare with the driver of exorbitant fees, said Jay Padriga, city manager of Grab Pampanga.
With Grab, the commuter will have a choice of drivers and cars (tricycles in Angeles) which keeps a record of the transactions making it a safe trip where it’s safe enough for mothers, sisters and daughters to use even late at night.
To use the Grab app in Angeles City, commuters should first download it on their smart phones, open it and select the “GrabTrike icon,” input pick up and drop off locations and check estimated fare (make sure you’re within the specified areas mentioned), click book and wait for the confirmation that you have a driver already, contact your driver to easily locate your tricycle and enjoy your Grab-Trike ride!
GrabTrike is available in Zones 1, 2 and 3 in Angeles from these covered barangays: Zone 1 Pulung Maragul, Balibago, Cutud, Pulung Cacutud and Sapa Libutad; Zone 2 Pandan, Marisol, Tabun, Capaya, Mining, Salapungan, Lourdes Sur East and half of Sto. Cristo; and Zone 3 Sto. Domingo, Pulung Bulu, San Jose, Sto. Rosario, half of Sto. Cristo, Agapito del Rosario and half of San Nicolas.
