ALDEN RICHARDS admits that his fans are half-hearted now that he’s doing prime time soap “Victor Magtanggol” on GMA without Maine Mendoza.
On the other hand, Maine is cast in Vic Sotto’s and Coco Martin’s movie titled Popoy En Jack: The Puliscredibles. A joint venture 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry
However, Alden stressed that it doesn’t mean his love team with Maine (Aldub) has ended. Aldub was seen in Eat Bulaga in its segment “Kalyeserye” in 2015.
“Marami po talagang nag-react na AlDub fans when they learned na I’m doing a soap na hindi si Maine ang ka-partner ko. Pero kasi po, itong buhay natin bilang artista, trabaho lang naman po lahat, walang personalan.”
“Kumbaga, ginagawa ko lang po ito para sa personal growth ko. And I’m sure, si Maine po may mga ginagawa rin for her personal growth.”
This is in contradiction to people’s speculation that “Eat Bulaga” and GMA management is trying to break their loveteam.
Alden did not give details, but made sure that there is an upcoming project for him and Maine
“Linawin ko lang po, wala pa pong nagtatapos na AlDub. Hindi pa po tapos ang AlDub. Nandiyan pa rin siya. Kasi maraming nagsasabi, ang Bulaga daw po at ang GMA pinaghihiwalay kami. Parang, kami po kasi, ang take po namin ni Maine, as long as nagkakaintindihan po kami sa mga ginagawa namin, okey po kami.
“This is more for exploration of Alden, exploration of Maine. Para pag bumalik na kami ulit, makagawa po kami ulit ng proyekto as partners, kakaiba na po yung mapapanood nila coming from the exploration na ginawa namin individually.”
Alden also mentioned his support for Maine and vice versa still remain.
“Opo naman, of course, for sure. Si Maine naman, very supportive ‘yan. Wala po akong narinig na hindi maganda on her end. So I’m sure she supports Victor Magtanggol.”
Just the same, Alden and Maine will still both be seen on noontime show “Eat Bulaga”.
“Every day nagkikita pa rin po kami sa Eat Bulaga. Hindi naman po nawawala yun. Kasi kahit nagte-taping ako ng Victor Magtanggol, I see to it, the next day makakapag-Eat Bulaga! ako. So, makikita at makikita pa rin kami ng mga tao together sa Eat Bulaga!”

SPEAKING OF “Victor Magtanggol”Janine Gutierrez was asked on working with Alden Richards in the said teleserye.
“Honestly, wala naman po ako sa posisyon na mag-demand kung ano ang gusto kong project… And yun po ay ipinagkakatiwala ko na sa GMA—na yung ibinibigay nila sa akin, yun po talaga yung kaya ko at tama para sa akin.”
Janine, 28, refused to feel off ended by bashers attacking her with below-the-belt comments because of her TV project with Alden Richards, 26.
This had to do with some netizens blaming Janine for the supposed breakup of AlDub, the uniname of Alden’s love team with perennial leading lady Maine Mendoza.
When told of an earlier report about bashers calling her names and dragging her family into the fray, Janine simply chalked it up as a non-issue.
Referring to netizens criticizing her for coming from a broken family, Janine said…
“Hindi ko sinagot. Pero nakakaloka naman yun. Ano ba! Wala namang konek. Pero nakakatuwa din. Ibig sabihin wala na pong valid na masabi.”
Naysayers may throw shade against her or her family, but Janine maintained that she won’t let others’ opinion put her down.
“Pero kasi naman, di ba, lumaki na ako dito. Hindi pa po ako nag-aartista alam ko na yung mga ganyan,” said Janine of the consequences of being in show business.
Janine continued, “Dahil nung naghiwalay din yung mga magulang ko, andami ko ring narinig alam ko hindi totoo.
“So ngayon na nandito ako, alam ko na kapag may sinasabi tungkol sa akin, hindi porke’t sinabi ng ibang tao, ibig sabihin totoo. So yun din siguro yung blessing dahil napagdaanan ko na, alam ko na.”
Janine went on to say that it was GMA- 7 management’s decision for her to be cast in Victor Magtanggol and she accepted the project in good faith.
“Honestly, wala naman po ako sa posisyon na mag-demand kung ano ang gusto kong project. Hindi naman po akong ganung klase pang artista. Masuwerte lang talaga ako naiisipan ako ng ganung klaseng trabaho. And yun po ay ipinagkakatiwala ko na sa GMA—na yung ibinibigay nila sa akin, yun po talaga yung kaya ko at tama para sa akin.”
Maine had earlier “begged off ” from doing a full-length drama series.
Maine’s manager Rams David mentioned at the time that Maine and Alden’s love team is far from breaking up since the two are still regularly seen together via the Kapuso noontime show, Eat Bulaga.
As for Janine, she clarified that she and Alden are “very professional” when it comes to work.
“Sa tingin ko, pareho naming priority ang trabaho.”
She also dismissed the possibility of her being romantically linked to Alden, insisting that “talagang professional lang yung mga tao sa set at talagang pinangangalagaan din po yung trabaho kaya wala naman pong naiisip na ganun.”
