ANGELES CITY – A fiery Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting has decried the alleged “black propaganda” being dished out against her.

Cabigting said she recently sought out the seven women leaders who allegedly uttered statements against her, adding that three of them have already denied saying such statements.

“As soon as I read the article, I pondered on what to do. I decided to check on these people to find out if they are real,” Cabigting said during the media forum “Batirulan at Café Juan” organized by the Capampangan in Media, Inc. (CAMI) at the Holy Angel University here in cooperation with the Clark Development Corp. (CDC), Social Security System (SSS) and the university.

“Beth Palasigue was my batchmate at Holy Angel. She was there when my batchmates announced my political plans,” Cabigting said.

“I remember telling her to be careful because she works at the city hall. You might lose your job if you get identified with me. She told me ‘Okay, I know what to do.’ So when I saw her name as one of the seven, I was surprised,” Cabigting said.

“Mebigla ku metung ya karetang ating sinabing makanyan (I was surprised she was one of those who said something against me),” she said.

“And then I went to check on the women’s leader in Barangay Salapungan. But when I got there she was working at the VAWC (Violence Against Women and Children’s) desk. When I showed her the article she said: ‘Ala naku man pung gewang makanyan (I didn’t do anything like that)’,” Cabigting narrated.

The vice mayor said she didn’t even tell her to change her statement but only explained to her that she might be being used for black propaganda.

But she said, “Ala ku pung sinabing makanyan (I didn’t say anything like that).”

Cabigting said then she went to the third person who is from Barangay Cutcut she identified as Miss Catchin.

“She admitted that she said she is against traditional politicians and I told her don’t think of me as a traditional politician because I’m not,” Cabigting said.

“I am still trying to locate the other four to talk to them. But suffice it to say the three women whom I have talked to don’t realize that they were used and were not aware what was written about them,” Cabigting said.

“I was even told by my husband why bother with these? But I seek the truth behind the story,” Cabigting said.
