Gaya halimbawa ng isang 19-year-old man na nagligtas sa buhay ng mahigit na dalawampung tao hanggang siya ay inabot ng panghihina at tinangay ng baha but not after he had put one more person to safety before his last remaining strength gave out. There were others like this young man who gave their lives to save others in the hour of greatest need.
Bukod sa personal na donasyon na Php50,000.00, Pareng Boking solicited Php250,000.00 from personal friends, and turned all the donated moneys to Angeles City Culiat Jaycees president Avelaine Nepomuceno for the victims of typhoon Ondoy. Pareng Boking did not stop there. He continues to raise funds and donations in cash or in kind for delivery to the families and residents of San Juan Bano, of the town of Arayat, who suffered from the landslide in Mt. Arayat.
Our good friends Benny Ricafort, president and chief executive officer of CDC, and Chichos Luciano, president and chief executive officer of CIAC, immediately organized Clark Outreach Program for Ondoy Victims in response to the President’s call and were soon joined by the Clark Investors and Locators Association (CILA), the 600th Air Base Wing of the Philippine Air Force, and the Angeles City Culiat Jaycees, and they, with their officers and employees, all together conducted relief operations in Arayat, Candaba and Lubao.
CDC and CIAC each donated Php250,000.00, while the Clark Freeport Zone locators, namely, Cyber City Teleservices, Paradise Ranch, Aritake Estates, and Widus International have each donated Php100,000.
Peregrine Development International president Dennis Wright has pledged a donation of Php500,000.00, apart from providing twenty (20) volunteers and heavy equipment (bulldozers and dump trucks) to clear damaged areas. Another Clark Freeport Zone top locator, Smart Shirts, pledged Php100,000.00 of export-quality clothes for the Ondoy victims.
Also, CILA, 600th Air Base Wing of the Philippine Air Force and CIAC have together raised more than Php1,000,000.00.
The Clark Outreach Program for Ondoy Victims, apart from the cash donations, distributed 2,500 packs of various relief goods in Arayat, Candaba and Lubao, the Pampanga towns that were hardest hit by Ondoy.
Kasalukuyan itong nasa Northern Luzon provinces of Cagayan, Benguet, Kalinga, at Ilocos Norte, even while Pepeng is still stationery offshore north-northwest of Laoag, Ilocos Norte.
Good day and Mabuhay to you all! See you again next week.
