LAUREN Young is enjoying playing villain to her Ate Megan so much in “Marimar”. “Dahil lagi kaming magkasama sa taping, mas naging close talaga kami because of ‘Marimar’,” she says. “Although we play rivals over Tom Rodriguez, we have a very good relationship talaga and our goal is always mas mapaganda ang acting namin at ang show. Noong bandang una, we had to be really serious kasi sanay kaming naglolokohan lang. Ginagaya-gaya ko pa ang acting niya at sabi ko, pabebe siya. But then, nang tumitindi na ang mga eksena, wala nang lokohan. Lalo na nang ikasal si Marimar kay Sergio. Sa eksena, dapat ipakitang nanginginig ako sa galit kay Marimar dahil sa ginawa niyang pang-aagaw sa akin kay Sergio, so inisip ko talagang galit na galit ako sa kanya. I don’t see her as my sister kundi as Marimar talaga para magmukhang authentic ang anger ko sa kanya.”
So how did Megan take Lauren’s seething anger against her? “As sisters, we really have good rapport on and off cam, kaya it’s easier for us na mag-tarayan, magsampalan at magsabunutan sa harap ng kamera. Kasi, we know na walang hard feelings at all kundi we’re just doing our job.”
Does she still feel pressured now that “Marimar” is rating well and is full of commercials? “Of course. Every day, every week, talagang inaabangan namin ang feedback and reaction ng mga tao sa bawat episode.
Lalo na ngayon, tinapatan kami ng bagong show, so we have to make sure na we offer something na mas maganda. In a way, maganda rin yung may pressure as it keeps us on our toes to work harder. Maganda ‘yung may challenge so we won’t feel complacent at lagi kaming lahat may effort to improve our show, both the story and our acting.”
