MALOLOS CITY—With less than a month before the May 13 polls, a senatorial candidate said she is still unsure if she will use additional air time for campaign advertisement on radio and television.
This came as the Supreme Court (SC) issued on Tuesday a status quo ante order stopping the Commission on Elections from implementing air time limits on campaign advertisements.
Las Piñas Rep. Cynthia Villar said that she respects that decision of the SC.
As a senatorial candidate of the Nacionalista Party, she said that whatever the SC decides, must be respected and followed.
“Hindi ko na iniisip yan, basta lahat ng ruling ng Court natin ay susundin natin. Pag hindi na tayo sumunod sa batas magkakagulo tayo, dahil yung rule of law ang nag-aayos sa ating society,” she said in a telephone interview aired over Radyo Bulacan, a local station based in this city.
However, when asked if she plans to add more campaign advertisement after the SC ruling, Villa said “it depends kung may budget pa kami.”
