PORAC, Pampanga— Eco Protect Management Corp. (EPMC) led by president and CEO Alainne Tan has reaffirmed its commitment to further improve environmentally-sound practices in its sanitary landfill facility in Barangay Mancatian here.
During a summary hearing at the Porac municipal hall on Oct. 15, Tan said the company is working closely with the local government to implement the recommended measures set by the municipality’s Joint Inspection Team (JIT) to improve facility operations, and ensure that environmental and community concerns are properly addressed by EPMC.

As part of its ongoing efforts, the company has implemented a truck scheduling system that assigns specific disposal days to clients to help manage incoming vehicles and reduce traffic congestion. It also moved its daily cutoff for accepting waste deliveries from 5 p.m. to 4 p.m.
According to EPMC admin and compliance officer Engr. Jericho Amiel Tan, the facility has likewise intensified odor-control measures through the application of an enzyme solution during and after operating hours, particularly in areas identified as potential sources of odor.

The company also reported accelerating soil-covering activities at Cell 1, constructing linear drainage dedicated for the flow of leachate, deploying additional equipment and personnel to ensure that exposed waste is covered promptly and properly.
EPMC said it would continue monitoring these measures and implement further improvements as needed, in coordination with the Porac LGU and relevant regulatory agencies to strengthen waste management practices and promote environmental protection. Press release
