PASIG CITY – Two major awards at the 2026 League of Corporate Foundations CSR Medal of Recognition have been bestowed upon Hann Foundation, Inc. (HFI) during the 2026 Conference on Good Corporate Citizenship held at the Bayanihan Center here on July 1-2.
HFI was awarded the 2026 CSR Medal of Recognition – Environment Category for its Sasmuan Mangrove Conservation and Restoration Project, an initiative that exemplifies how environmental protection and community development go hand in hand.
Implemented in partnership with local government agencies and the fisherfolk of Sasmuan, Pampanga, the project focuses on restoring degraded mangrove ecosystems, strengthening coastal resilience against climate change, protecting marine biodiversity, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for local communities.
This project comprises the establishment of a seedling nursery and bamboo dike, regular mangrove planting activities, and providing the necessary surveying and preservation materials and facilities such as drones, ICT equipment, and motorized boat for the fisherfolk.
The initiative empowers community members to become active stewards of their natural resources, ensuring that conservation efforts translate into improved quality of life for future generations.
In the 2026 CSR Medal of Recognition – Education Category, HFI was cited as a finalist for its Alternative Learning System (ALS) Center at Sitio Malasa, Bamban, Tarlac, an initiative that provides accessible and flexible learning opportunities for out-of-school youth, and adult learners who have been left behind by the formal education system.
The ALS Center reflects HFI’s core belief that education is a powerful catalyst for personal transformation and social development. By providing a safe and supportive learning environment, the program helps learners complete their basic education and enhance their employability to build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
The recognition highlights HFI’s continuing commitment to ensuring that quality education is accessible to all, regardless of age, circumstance, or socio-economic background.
