CLARK FREEPORT— English as a Second Language (ESL) providers and education-related locators reaffirmed the industry’s role in driving Clark’s education tourism. They cited long-stay students as high-value visitors who generate spending across accommodations, transport, food and beverage, and attractions.

The Clark Development Corp. under president and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, held the sectoral meeting on June 18 at the Clark Visitors Center. CDC emphasized a participatory approach, noting that stakeholder inputs will guide market development, international promotions, and student experience programs.

Survey data showed most institutions accommodate 100–500 students per intake, with stays ranging from one to six months. Korea remains the dominant source market, while Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, China, and Middle Eastern countries were identified as priority growth areas.

Facilitated by CDC’s Tourism Promotions Division, stakeholders agreed to collaborate with CDC on policy advocacy and destination marketing. The meeting underscored broad support for stronger industry coordination and government engagement to position Clark as one of the country’s leading education tourism hubs. CDC-PR
