BALANGA CITY — The provincial government in coordination with the Department of Education has begun establishing Information Hubs (i-Hub) in all senior high schools in Bataan.

Gov. Albert Garcia said they have distributed computers, electronic boards and other high-tech materials starting with Pablo Roman National High School in Pilar town and J. C. Payumo Memorial High School in Dinalupihan.

Paulo de Guzman, master teacher and ICT i-Hub coordinator of Pablo Roman National High School, said they received last Friday from the governor 50 complete sets of computers, two packages for computer system services and other high-tech items.

“The computers are for use by all students, especially those in senior high school for their specialization,” de Guzman said.

The governor said the computers are equipped with speech lab.

“Ganito kaaga i-train na natin ang kabataan sa IT. After graduation sa senior high school kung pipiliin nilang magtrabaho, may training at nakahanda na sila. Ganoon din may skills na sila kung tutuloy sila sa kolehiyo,” Garcia said.

He said that even those in junior high schools can make use of the computers in batches.

The governor said that the computers are housed in big i-Hub buildings that the provincial government began constructing in all 16 senior high schools in the province.

The buildings serve not only as computer labs but as classrooms, Garcia said.

Computer sets at 50 units per senior high school were placed for safekeeping at the Bataan command center. As soon as the i-Hub buildings of the rest of the senior high schools are ready, the items will be distributed.
