BALANGA CITY (PIA) — Strengthening regional health systems, the Department of Health (DOH) Central Luzon Center for Health Development (CLCHD) has recognized the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) in Balanga City as a Family Planning (FP) training center.
BGHMC is the third facility in Central Luzon to be recognized as an FP training center, joining Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, and Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.
The recognition followed a validation visit conducted on April 15, 2026 by the CLCHD Recognition and Assessment Committee, which assessed the hospital’s capacity to provide quality family planning services and training.
BGHMC Chief Glory Baltazar expressed support for strengthening family planning services and capacity-building initiatives.
During the validation, the hospital’s Obstetrics-Gynecology Department and FP team demonstrated compliance with DOH standards.
After a thorough assessment, the committee confirmed BGHMC’s full compliance, affirming its readiness as a hub for FP training and service delivery.
The hospital is expected to further strengthen the capacity of healthcare professionals in delivering family planning services.
