CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — More than 20,000 affordable housing units were offered to Central Luzon residents as Pag-IBIG Fund held its first regional housing fair on March 18–19 at the LausGroup Event Centre in Pampanga.

Organized in partnership with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), the two-day event gathered over 40 developers, financing institutions, and government agencies in one venue.

The fair aimed to make homeownership more accessible by providing house-and-lot and socialized housing options, along with on-site assistance for loan applications.

Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta said the initiative supports the government’s broader goal of expanding housing access for Filipino families.

“This journey is part of the broader direction of our government, under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and our Chairperson, Secretary Alili. We are all working together towards one goal – for more Filipino families to have a safe, proper, and affordable home,” Acosta said.

She added that the Central Luzon housing fair marks the start of a nationwide rollout of similar initiatives.

“This Central Luzon Housing Fair is the first in a series of regional housing fairs that Pag-IBIG Fund will hold to bring housing opportunities closer to our members,” she said.

Acosta emphasized that the fair brings together housing options and financing support under one roof.

“By bringing together housing units from across the region in one venue and pairing them with affordable Pag-IBIG housing loan terms, we are making homeownership more accessible to Filipino workers and their families,” she said.

She noted that the presence of Lingkod Pag-IBIG teams helped guide members through the process, from inquiry to application.

“With our Lingkod Pag-IBIG team on site, members can easily explore options and take concrete steps toward owning a home,” Acosta explained.

DHSUD Secretary and Pag-IBIG Fund Board Chairperson Jose Ramon Aliling underscored the fair’s role in advancing the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

“Through the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program, we are making homeownership more accessible to more Filipino families,” Aliling said.

He added that bringing developers, financiers, and government agencies together simplifies the process for aspiring homeowners.

“By bringing stakeholders in one venue, the housing fair provides an easier way for aspiring homeowners to find options that match their needs and financial capacity,” he said.

Socialized housing units were offered with monthly payments as low as ₱3,411 under the program’s 3 percent subsidized interest rate, while house-and-lot packages worth up to ₱1.8 million were also available at a 4.5 percent promotional rate.

Pag-IBIG Fund said it will continue expanding housing initiatives and partnerships to support inclusive growth and improve the quality of life of Filipino workers and their families. (MJSC/AJMP, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
