Catfish hatchery, solar pumping system inaugurated in Aurora

BALER, Aurora – A catfish hatchery and a solar-powered pumping system were inaugurated and turned over by the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Region 3 to the to the provincial government

at the Aurora Freshwater Technology Center here on Feb. 27.

Provincial agriculturist Arnold B. Novicio thanked the partner for their key contributions to the realization of the hatchery and the pumping system

Vice Gov. Patrick Alexis Angara said the project is part of ongoing collaboration between the provincial government and national agencies to support Aurora’s agriculture and fisheries sector.

In his message, Gov. Isidro P. Galban committed the continuing support of the provincial government to programs and projects directly benefiting the people, most especially those in the fishing sector that aim to increase production and expand the livelihood opportunities of the fisherfolk.

During the event, a memorandum of agreement for the turnover of the facilities was signed between the provincial government and BFAR-3 led by director Wilfredo M. Cruz. Punto News Team/Provincial Government of Aurora
