BALANGA CITY- Party list Rep. Samuel Pagdilao, Jr., former chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, on Friday expressed opposition to Charter change that will deal on the political aspect but favored amendment of the economic provision.
The retired police general represents Party list Anti- Crime & Terrorism – Community Investigative Support (ACT-CIS) which he said has 400,000 registered members nationwide.
“Hindi ako sang-ayon sa term extension ng Pangulong Aquino bagama’t nagpahiwatig na siya na hindi siya interesado sa extension ng term niya,” Pagdilao said.
He said that the Constitution is still new and the country has not yet attained political maturity. “Tama na anim na taon.
Naitanim na naman ng Pangulo ang mahahalagang pundasyon ng bansa kaya humanap na lamang ng kapalit na itutuloy ang mga ginawa niya,” the former CIDG chief said. On the economic provision of the Constitution, Pagdilao said he was considering it, claiming that it is restrictive.
“Maraming limitasyon na hindi makakahikayat sa mga negosyanteng dayuhan,” he said. He said the economic portion should be looked into to give considerations to foreigners interested in doing business in the country. “Dapat batas na nababagay sa kasalukuyang panahon upang hindi tayo matalo ng ibang bansa sa paghikayat ng mga dayuhang negosyante,” the retired police general said.
Pagdilao inducted into office the new set of offi cers of CIS-Mariveles chapter led by incoming president Marcialito “AL” Balan. The other officers are Aurelio Arenas – Vice- Pres., Glenda Penafiel – Secretary, Romy Bagtas – Treasurer, Enrico Deldoc – Auditor and Paul Gampay and Eladio Bacatan as PROs Hundreds of ACT-CIS members in Bataan joined Pagdilao in a motorcade from Lucanin to Maligaya, two barangays in Mariveles.
