PILAR, Bataan- A tree-hopping adventure adjacent to the breathtaking Dunsulan Falls below historic Mount Samat in this town is almost ready to open, in addition to the 540-meter zipline.
Michael Landicho, Zipline and Tree-Hopping Adventure team leader, identifi ed the six legs passing through six century-old trees starting at the landing pad of the zipline. These are Jacob Ladder, Monkey Trail, Surfi ng Zipline, King and Balance Swing, Hanging Bridge with rappelling.
“Each leg will have an emergency exit, especially for beginners who cannot hurdle all the six legs,” Landicho said. He said that the project is already undergoing finishing touches and will be ready by March as desired by Pilar Mayor Alice Pizarro.
Arjhay Cagimbal said he felt good while going from one tree to another using various features in the Tree-Hopping Adventure. He was equipped with a harness for safety.
“Huwag kakabahan, relax lang habang nasa itaas at i-enjoy ang magandang paligid,” Cagimbal said when asked what he would advise tree-hoppers. The Pilar municipal government funded the project for P2.7 million and will operate it like the zipline.
Mayor Pizarro said the investment will be easily recovered like what happened to the zipline. In just eight months, the P1.8 million that Pilar spent for the zipline was recovered, she said. The mayor said environmentalists need not worry. “Environment-friendly ito at may safety measures upang hindi masaktan ang mga punong-kahoy,” Pizarro said.
