BALER, Aurora (PIA) — A total of 13 health facilities in Aurora have received the Provision of Mobile Solution for Internet Liberty (PMSIL) equipment under the Free Public Internet Access Project of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

The PMSIL will provide stable and immediate internet connectivity to beneficiary health facilities, serving as critical support for their day-to-day operations.

DICT Region 3 Free Public Internet Access Project Engineer Paulo Landicho said that with internet access in place, health data reporting, scheduling of online consultations, and retrieval of accurate patient information become easier.

“As a result, healthcare services are delivered more efficiently and effectively, and public service management is improved even in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas,” Landicho added.

Unlike fiber or fixed wireless connectivity solutions, PMSIL is a mobile and rapidly deployable system that is easy to relocate, quick to install, and highly suitable for emergency response situations.

Meanwhile, to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable use of the equipment, the DICT conducts orientation sessions and technical briefings such as proper usage, basic troubleshooting procedures, and clarification of end-user responsibilities to maintain service quality.

Through this initiative, healthcare workers gain improved access to online health information systems, electronic medical records, disease surveillance and reporting platforms, and other digital health applications.

In accordance with DICT’s Inclusive Tech for All framework, the agency continues its efforts to advance digital inclusion, ensure equitable access, and strengthen digital transformation in rural communities. (CLJD/MJRD, PIA Region 3-Aurora)
