BALANGA CITY – The city government of Balanga on Monday awarded plaques of recognition to two young women who landed first and second in the Dentist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Dentistry on May 2013.
City Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia III with some members of the sangguniang panlungsod handed the awards to Dr. Reina Diane Tajonera, 23, first place and Dr. Shane Siriban, 24, second place, both of Balanga City.
Tajonera graduated in dentistry from the University of the East. Her parents, Dr. Roberto and Dr. Dolores Tajonera, as well as her elder sister are all dentists.
Siriban graduated from the University of the Philippines and has attended the daycare, elementary and secondary schools all in Balanga. Her mother, Liberty, is a businesswoman while her father Oliverio Siriban Jr. is an engineer.
The two topnotchers thanked God Almighty for the opportunity given them.
“Mahirap man o mayaman, pantay-pantay sa edukasyon,” said the young Tajonera.
