BALANGA City- The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) participated in the observance of the 269th Bataan Foundation Day on January 10 – 11, 2026.
AFAB that operates the Freeport Area of Bataan in Mariveles town joined the colorful Festival of Festivals and long parade along the Capitol Drive in Balanga City that was temporarily closed to traffic.
The long stretch of the Capitol Drive was lined with various stalls of street foods and products made in 11 towns and one city in Bataan.
Street dancers contributed to the merry-making after the delivery of the State of the Province Address of Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III at the jampacked Bataan People’s Center in Balanga City.
Bataan was separated from Pampanga as a province on January 11, 1757 that was made official with the passage of Republic Act 11138. January 11 was declared as a non-working holiday and to be known as Bataan Foundation Day. (30)
