CLARK FREEPORT — A memorandum of agreement establishing a collaborative framework for the effective use and sustainable development of land in Pampanga has been signed between the Capitol and the Clark International Airport Corp.

Under the agreement, some 6.5 hectares of land will be developed into a farming area to be managed by members of the indigenous Aeta community from the Mabalacat City area.

As part of the provincial government’s continuing advocacy for food security, the MOA aims to establish a coordinated approach in strengthening various livelihood programs, including the cultivation of idle lands—particularly the GMA Kabukiran project site located at Prince Balagtas Avenue in this freeport.

The project is expected to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities, employment, and long-term economic stability for the beneficiaries with the full support of the provincial government.

The agreement was signed on the part of the Capitol by Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda with Pampanga 1st  District board members Cherry Manalo and Christian Halili, and CIAC president and CEO Joseph Alcazar with directors Anthony Emmanuel Tulabut and Jaime Lazatin.

“The event may seem simple but its impact is meaningful, the MOA strengthens our support for the province’s livelihood programs. Through the use of CIAC’s resources for agricultural production purposes and reflects our commitment to uplifting communities,” enthused Alcazar. Pampanga PIO/Photos: Kiervin Cayanan
