Fire razes 3 classrooms in Bataan

    DINALUPIHAN, Bataan – A fire here razed at least three classrooms of the Cory Aquino Building at the New San Jose Elementary School here affecting more than 100 elementary school pupils Friday afternoon. 

    School Principal Renato Dimalanta said totally damaged were two classrooms for pre-elementary and one for Grade 4 pupils. He said the students will be temporarily accommodated in the conference room and other spaces available.

    Dimalanta said the school building in Barangay New San Jose was among other buildings constructed in 1991 – 1992 and named after the late President, mother of Pres. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino.

    New San Jose barangay captain Rio Calimbas said four firetrucks from the towns of Hermosa, Orani and Dinalupihan immediately responded that prevented the fire from spreading to other school buildings.

    He said no one was hurt. The pupils were told to go home early because teachers attended the interment of another teacher.

    Fire Senior Insp. Reynaldo Pineda, Dinalupihan fire marshall, said they were still in the process of investigating the cause of the blaze. The fire that started at 12:45 p.m. reached second alarm before it was put out at 1:35 p.m.

    He placed the damage at P100,000.
