BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Some 150 daycare children belonging to the poorest of the poor families here received on Tuesday school supplies and bags.

City Social Welfare Officer Gloria Abejar said the children beneficiaries were selected from daycare centers in 25 villages in the city. “We made sure that the children are from indigent families,” she said.

Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia III led in the distribution of school bags of different colors to little children in the presence of their beaming mothers.

“My son is so happy having received the bag that he does not want to take away from his hands anymore,” a smiling mother said. The child even proudly showed the bag with a nod that he loves it.

Abejar said that the school bags with some school supplies came from members of the Bataan (Host) Lions Club in Balanga. The Lions were on hand assisting the mayor in the distribution.
