ANGELES CITY — Leopoldo Jaime Nepomuceno Valdes has been officially installed as the 10th president of Holy Angel University on Oct. 24.

The rites of installation commenced with a Thanksgiving Mass at the Holy Guardian Angel Chapel, concelebrated by Most Rev. Florentino Lavarias, D.D., Archbishop of San Fernando and chairman of the HAU board of trustees, archbishop Emeritus Paciano B. Aniceto and guest priests from the archdiocese.

Valdes made his profession of faith and oath of fidelity during the eucharistic celebration.
In his inaugural address, the new university president underscored the importance of sustainable academic excellence, innovation, people development, and Catholic character formation, calling on the HAU community and fellow education leaders to collaborate, innovate, and lead together for the welfare of the people.

“It is our shared responsibility and collective purpose to cultivate future generations of observant and empathetic stewards who will work for the greater good, with great results,” enthused Valdes.

The celebration concluded with musical performances by the HAU Chorale, String Ensemble and SEA dancers, as well as a surprise number by Arti Sta. Rita. The official presidential portrait was also unveiled by the new president and Archbishop Lavarias and members of the board at the University Theater lobby.
