CITY OF MALOLOS – The Bulacan police has presented to the local media and to the provincial government one of the suspects in the killing of a provincial board member and his driver in 2024.
Suspect alias Lupin who was arrested in Navotas City on Wednesday was presented in a media conference with Gov. Daniel Fernando at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center here on Saturday.
Aside from Lupin, there are other suspects in the killing but the police did not divulge their identities as they are still being pursued by the authorities.
Fernando said the arrest of Lupin is a step closer for the victims’ families in attaining justice for the death of their loved ones.
He also said that Bulakeños are optimistic that the follow-up operations would result in the apprehension of the other suspects.
According to the police, Lupin and his cohorts ambushed and killed Bulacan Association of Barangay Captains president Ramilito “Ramil” Capistrano and his driver Shedrick Toribio on Oct. 3 last year.
Police officials refused to give other details so as not to preempt their follow-up operations against the other suspects.
